I am Joseph Harmon, currently a junior at the University of Arizona Global Campus. I am on track to graduate in the spring of 2026 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Leadership. At this time, I am also enrolled in the PGA Professional Golf Management Associate program. I attended Eastern Kentucky University as part of their PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) program. Following my freshman year at EKU, I interned at Butler National Golf Club in Chicago, Illinois. This experience provided me with practical insights into private golf club operations and also facilitated connections that led to my current position at Victory Ranch Golf Club in Park City, Utah. While at Butler National, I worked in the golf shop, developing sales and merchandising skills while also building teamwork skills. These experiences helped to further my knowledge of golf management, merchandising, and hospitality. Currently, I am part of the professional golf operations staff at Victory Ranch, where I have a hybrid role that combines outside golf operations with my responsibilities as a future PGA Professional. During my time at Victory Ranch, I have helped facilitate junior and ladies clinics, provided private lessons for juniors, and helped in running the club's annual events, including our 144-person Member-Guest tournament. Additionally, I contribute as a Writer and Content Creator for Golf Central Magazine, where my first feature was published in the February 2024 issue covering the annual PGA Show. Since then, I have collaborated with entrepreneurial ventures, conducted editorial interviews, reviewed products, and helped to create monthly magazine content. My writing has allowed me to fully explore the product and business side of the golf industry. In addition to my academic and professional endeavors, I am also an avid golfer, dedicating time each week to practice and play.As I look toward the future, I am excited about the opportunities that await me in the golf industry. Graduating in spring 2026 with my Bachelor's Degree in Business Leadership and completing the PGA Professional Golf Management Associate program will equip me with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in golf management. I am actively seeking new connections within the industry to broaden my network, gain additional insights, and explore new opportunities. I believe engaging with professionals and mentors is crucial as I continue to advance my career and contribute to the always evolving golf business.
