I am Joseph Latham, an honors biochemistry BS student at UNC Chapel Hill. Throughout my time at UNC, I have taken the steps necessary to achieve my goal of using my talents to reach and benefit those around me by joining The Schisler Lab, taking part in the Carolina Summer Fellowship (CSF) program and maintaining good academic standing. I am specifically interested in pursuing biochemistry and drug discovery because of my passion to drive lasting change in our understanding of cellular mechanisms and drug interaction in the body. Before graduation I will be completing an undergraduate thesis in the Schisler Lab. Finally, I plan to continue to hone my skills in graduate school researching novel therapies for disease to ease the suffering of those in need.
