Locate in Kent is an independent not-for-profit primarily funded by Kent County Council and Medway Council to deliver inward investment activities for the region. Supported achievement of organisational contracted job, revenue and soft targets to nurture regional economic growth : managed external membership forums, built and grew C-suite cross-sector/industry network within and outside the region, generated supplementary partnership and sponsorship income and strategically curated ideas/connections/insights to extend LiK’s service offering to incoming and growing companies. Internal and external stakeholder engagement: proactively worked with peer/partner organisations to achieve shared goals e.g. joint organising partner of annual Kent and Medway Business Summit bringing together small business leaders, academia and the public sector ; acquired sponsorship (financial and in-kind) and leads/attendees for events, programme delivery and foreign inward investment trips.Worked with marketing colleagues and external marketing agency to deliver communications across multiple channels and ensure aligned messagingBuilt community of coworking spaces in Kent, with more than 50 operators actively engaged. Strengthened and advanced the coworking sector regionally and nationally: convened regular meetings with relevant content, built links between operators and public/private investors and championed sector. Sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, I pro-actively worked across LiK to advance project delivery and provide additional expertise and resource as required e.g. proposed and initiated business transformation programme. Latterly I took on the HR function and was seconded to lead Operations taking additional responsibility for payroll and finance.

Supported senior volunteer leadership: secretariat support, internal / external stakeholder management,communications (drafting speeches, reports and correspondence), event management, budget management.Provided day-to-day support to CEO: oversaw senior volunteer recruitment, streamlined administration processes, event management and liaison with Duchess of Edinburgh’s office (Girlguiding President).Administration of all elements of governance meetings, Trustee Board and leadership meetings (volunteer/staff) including agenda/paper collation and action log maintenance.
