After 33 years as a scientist in the chemical/pharmaceutical industries, I begin a new chapter. I am immensely grateful for the opportunities, and especially for the many supervisors, mentors and colleagues that have enriched the time beyond measure. Each juncture was possible because of the cumulative knowledge and experiences that came before. This turning point is similar in many ways, yet different. My focus is to intentionally EXPLORE and ENGAGE in: 1) NEW WAYS that my interests, causes and experiences can contribute, and 2) personal interests that have been deferred over the course of my professional career. Looking forward to connecting with colleagues and collaborators, past and future.

Analytical DevelopmentQuantitation and structural elucidation of low level impurities in drug substances and drug products from Phase 1 to Commercial by mass spectrometry and other approaches.

• Develop bioanalytical methods for quantitation in biological samples to support drug discovery including in vivo PK and in-vitro ADME studies. Perform pharmacokinetic calculations and interpretation of data, report to project teams.• Build and lead analytical group, including staff recruitment and development, instrumentation, sample analysis work-flow, data interpretation and documentation as written test methods and technical reports.• Manage analytical method development for physical property profiling of new clinical candidates, formulation development, API and Drug Product characterization, impurity identification, reference standard qualification.• Manage analytical methods transfer to contract sites worldwide for API and drug product manufacturing, stability studies, dose solution analyses, GLP bioanalysis, and formulations research.• Analytical representative to project teams and contributing writer for original IND and regulatory updates.

• Lead group conducting high-throughput LC/MS/MS and GC/MS/MS quantitation of drugs and metabolites from biological samples from non-clinical studies (GLP) and clinical trials.• Develop and validate analytical methods and instrumental analysis procedures.• Write internal SOPs, Test Methods, Validation Protocols, and Study Reports.• Provide analytical support for development of drug delivery systems, patches, and stents.• Primary client interface throughout all phases of major projects. • Develop company processes to support company growth, cultivate client relationships and participate in staff recruitment to build a new highly-respected GLP bioanalytical lab.

• Qualitative and quantitative mass spectrometry for molecular weight confirmation, minor component identification, metabolite identification, peak homogeneity, product purity, trace analyses, cleaning validations. • Lab automation.• Develop robust procedures for electronically archiving mass spectral data via data network.• Act as Study Director for FDA and EPA studies, both in-house and contracted out. Write and issue Study Protocols and Final Reports. • Conduct all work in compliance with GLP and GMP regulations. Write and issue Standard Operating Procedures and Instrumentation Validation protocols.• Maintain and operate all mass spectrometric equipment including Thermo-Finnigan Triple Quadrupoles, Ion Trap GC/MS instruments, and a Fourier Transform High Resolution Mass Spectrometer.• Investigate, evaluate, specify, and introduce new instrumentation and technologies needed to keep laboratories state-of-the-art.• Supervise and train associate chemists.
