About Joseph Snodgrass
Marketing and Communications, whether deliberately for the social change sector or not, comes down to a kind of expedition between bottom lines with objectives and positive outcomes for people.I have a North Star of Social Impact that I follow, and every step in the journey are the things that I live for. Things like:• Empathetic cross-disciplinary designing for positive human behavior change• Societal trend analysis and forecasting possibilities• Addressing social systemic issues, cross-functional collaboration, and fostering understanding and relationships• Driving real, impactful measurable results through strategic initiatives and solutionsTo make this expedition a success, I act as the navigator and facilitator—driving the mission forward while leveraging the strengths of my fellow explorers. For every chasm, I work with others to build a bridge. And it takes strategy and innovation to get us across. In doing this I:• Lead cross-functional teams to tackle complex problems and deliver exceptional outcomes• Develop and execute data-driven marketing and communication strategies that resonate with diverse audiences• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement through effective brand management, project management, and storytellingThere's a lot of jargon there. But it's all true.Listen... I just want to do good work. I'm a real person and I want to help real people and make their lives better in real ways. I love the process of working with the design of communications solutions to achieve this. It's what I'm trained to do, what I'm perpetually researching and iterating on, and what I can't not do. I believe in the power of marketing and that it can be more than just selling products and services. In the work that I do, I believe the truth lies in qualitative and quantitative data and building systems that improve the understanding between what's working, what's helping, and what's hindering.Whether leading a team or being a one-man Marketing department, drawing out the best in everyone involved to excel at what they do is where magic happens.
