Our mission is to use the power of sport and play to empower Chicago’s youth to achieve academic success, develop social-emotional skills, and build social capital. We provide free sport and play opportunities for 50,000 Chicago Public Schools students annually and are on track to do so for 100,000 by 2025. UI empowers Chicago’s youth to achieve success in life.

Fall Placement: US Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship-Researched and produced policy memorandum relevant to the Committee's legislative agenda on small business issues including entrepreneurial development, technical assistance, minority issues, and assistance to small business owners-Drafted several portions of the Committee's official report summarizing all of the Committee's legislative accomplishments and activities for the 111th Congress-Assisted with policy briefings, hearings and other official Committee events involving Members of the Committee and their respective staffSpring Placement: White House Office of Presidential Correspondence-Coordinated the efforts of more than 500 volunteers; appointed work assignments and hosted training sessions for volunteers to learn how to handle the President’s mail-Developed guidelines to improve the Volunteer Department’s on-boarding process and created process sheets for the various administrative functions of the department
