I am a Pipeline TD with a passion for optimising workflows in the TV and games industry, specialising in using Pixar's Universal Scene Description (USD) and its integration with applications like Houdini to create seamless, efficient pipelines. These pipelines enhance collaboration between different departments and their respective software, to allow artists and production teams to work more seamlessly and effectively. With a background in visual effects and a keen interest in the technical side of production, I thrive on solving complex problems and finding innovative and creative ways to improve workflows. Whether this means automating repetitive tasks, improving data exchange between DCCs, or optimising USD scenes, I'm always looking for inventive solutions to streamline production. In addition to my technical skills, I have experience taking on additional responsibility, driving the adoption of solutions and presenting ideas to key stakeholders. I also enjoy providing training sessions to artists of varying experience levels, helping them to get the most out of the tools and processes in place, and on-boarding with more complex USD application.I am particularly experienced in:- Developing tools that enhance USD workflows across multiple softwares.- Improving interoperability between applications such as Houdini, Maya and Nuke.- Collaborating with artists and technical teams to identify bottlenecks and streamline VFX processes.- Delivering presentations and training sessions to onboard and upskill artists. As I continue to grow in my career, I'm eager to connect with other professionals in the VFX and animation industries, share knowledge, and explore new oppurtunities to take on more experienced roles and work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of technology in filmmaking.Feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss VFX pipelines, Houdini, USD or potential collaborations!
