I worked with Nestle Purina at the St Joseph Missouri location, as well as Lincoln and Freemont Nebraska. It was a contract type position for automation upgrades. I did field control wiring and installations, commissioning and start up. I oversaw the installation and wiring of Allen Bradley motor control centers and was involved with designing large conduit runs and conduit racks. I assisted other apprentice and journeyman level coworkers as well. These jobs were large multi million dollar integrations were we added MCCs and plant networks, and refed existing electric motors.

I started working with Cawveys in 1998 in the electric motor repair shop. I worked in the shop for five years full time. My daily tasks were testing with megohmeter to determine the state of the windings, rewinding, replacing bearings and seals, assembly and testing after repair. I also used wire size, turns/ratio , and span to change voltage, add torque, change speed, and it was also common to change a standard duty motor to Inverter duty. After five years I trained my replacement and transferred to the control panel shop.I built control panels for the next three years. My responsibilities were building small to medium size control panels for wood industry applications. I worked with Autocad on a daily basis and began running service calls and doing electrical installations. Finally after three years my boss moved me to the field . My responsibilities were automation and controls field service, supervisor of electrical installations, and supervisor over traveling jobs. The largest job I supervised was two million full scope. I designed, bid, built control panels in the field on a regular basis. I typically had two to four guys working on my crew. I supervised fuel management system upgrades for CN Railroad for about three years. Upon arrival we set Allen Bradley touch screens at the fueling pad and truck unload, installed pressure transducers on storage tanks , and refed existing diesel pumps to our new control panel. The platform was Allen Bradley SLC500 Or Micrologix. Communication protocol was generally DH+.
