• Worked with CPG clients to grow their business and distribution, utilizing mathematical models in Advanced Excel & R in order to gain business insights from large data sets. Reports were presented in PowerPoint for clients to transform into business actions. Analyzed distribution, highlighting areas of potential growth and shortcomings, and gave recommendations on if price changes should occur. Calculated promotional scenarios for the upcoming year according to client asks and compared sku performance across the category. Additionally, completed an independent project measuring the cannibalisation rate of promotions of differing pack counts and presented findings to the team. Found that ~10% of a sku’s promotional lift came from a loss in sales of that sku’s’ other sizes.

Researched and learned about Turbulence in the Atmosphere: Ensemble-Averaged Navier-Stokes Equations, Vertical turbulent fluxes in a horizontally-homogeneous boundary layer, Atmospheric Boundary Layer Theory, Monin-Obukhov Theory.Measured the turbulent heat and moisture fluxes under unstable condtions from a 3D data set and compared with Monin-Obukhov Theory, done in MATLAB, and plotted the profiles as they developed throughout a 24hr time frame in 15 minute intervals vs the ensemble averages of the fluxes (time and spatial averages)

I always wanted to do this for a summer and it just continued on for a while thereafter. I am a man who loves his Ice Cream and so I decided to get a summer job working with something that I truly enjoyed. The job was fast-paced, highly demanding of time management skills and efficiency, and required a positive attitude to ensure good customer relations. The majority of guests were regulars, so it became about establishing a good rapport, knowing who wanted what, names of the family members, and it evolved into a very community centred position.

My role was to sell as much food as possible to every guest that came in. Upsell, suggestive sell, and smiling the whole way through. With lines that sometimes stretched as long as 40+meters on big opening nights and rushes lasting as long as 3hours, the focus was time management and efficency. This job made me learn to think on my feet when disaster strikes (ie, firealarms, blackouts, floods), how to satiate hundreds of people in as short of a time as possible, and that some people just want to see the world burn (ie, dumping a whole bag of popcorn in front of me and stating "clean it up", vandals using their own excrements to do their art, cons pulling counting schemes). You truly had to be a jack-of-all-trades and know every position on the floor so that the show can go on.
