• Manage the efficient and effective management of the NMC hearings process• Deliver excellent customer service to NMC’s stakeholders• Ensure continuous improvement of NMC’s fitness to practise hearing processes and operations • Draft the Panel’s decisions whilst in private session and ensure each decision is set out in an appropriate framework and in line with NMC’s guidelines and “determination tool” checklists. Keep accurate note of the hearing/meeting• Provide guidance on standard procedures and processes • Ensure the room is prepared according to the NMC Fitness to Practise standard operating procedures and all guidance folders are available for panel members • Provide papers to panel members in a timely and coherent fashion on the day and serve any additional relevant papers during the day’s proceedings• Liaises with witnesses and identify any specific needs eg vulnerable witnesses/press and the criteria for high profile cases• At the conclusion of each hearing, logs and records exhibits presented to the panel, circulate decisions to appropriate bodies and disposes of confidential information appropriately.
