As a staff in GBQ's assurance practice, I work with a number of clients across several industries to ensure timely completion of their financial statement audits. One of my favorite parts of my job is finding ways to introduce efficiency into the processes throughout the audit work I'm responsible for. I've become known internally as one of the firm's resident tech experts and enjoy helping others solve problems using Excel or other tools.

In my main role at Jewel-Osco, a stock clerk in the grocery department, I had a myriad of responsibilities. I would often train and lead new and inexperienced employees, including one manager-in-training. In addition, I was certified to operate the store P.I.T. equipment, which included an electric pallet jack and a walk-behind forklift.In my secondary role at Jewel-Osco, I would frequently take charge of running the frozen foods department when necessary. During these weeks, I ordered new shipments 5-6 times per week, created weekly display plans to establish strategic product placement and maximize sales, and successfully oversaw the ordering and handling of greatly increased numbers of ice pallets during “ice holidays,” (i.e. 4th of July or Memorial Day). As a frozen manager, I excelled in keeping backroom overstock to a minimum and sales floor shelves as full as possible, and I took pride in running my department as efficiently as possible.
