I am a recent graduate from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I am currently working as an Engineer at HeliMods following my 1.5 year internship. During this time I completed my industry thesis on modelling and finite element analysis of aircraft structures as well as working on various aspects of the development of a new fixed-wing EMS system.My experience at HeliMods has been thoroughly fulfilling as I have learnt much in a short period of time. I have been exposed to a variety of work including CASA certification, 3D scanning, VR workshops with clients and lots of interesting CAD design and FEA simulations. I have been particularly privileged to be able to follow the design cycle through from concept to manufactured product for an EMS equipment item. This involved CAD design, structural analysis, 5-axis CAM as well as first article inspections.During my time at university I developed my engineering skills through UQ Space, with particular focus on the 2022 rover project. Being heavily involved with the design of the drivetrain, suspension and wheels, it was great to see all these aspects come together on competition day so that our little rover could smash obstacles. My work on these aspects involved CAD design, simulations in NASTRAN and Python as well as hands-on manufacturing and assembly work.
