There I gained extensive experience using systems modelling language in the specialist software, Artisan Studios. My work as a systems engineer included managing two EHM projects in research and development, and designing a new system for an existing engine. There I gained extensive experience using systems modelling language in the specialist software, Artisan Studios. My work as a systems engineer included managing two EHM projects in research and development, and designing a new system for an existing engine. This involved using Artisan Studios to model the functional design of the EHM system. My tasks also included writing safety assessments, requirement, and definition documents to be signed off by chief engineers.Shortly after my commencement, my high level of expertise and initiative was recognised. Consequently I was given the responsibility of conducting two design reviews at Rolls-Royce Indianapolis in the United States. I also solely directed a design review at the end of placement, in Bristol, at which I received ‘no actions’ (no further work needed to be undertaken). This was an outstanding result, for which I was congratulated.I compiled and conducted a 45 minute presentation to 10 chief engineers on the merits of Artisan Studios. I explained and demonstrated its power, and how it should be implemented into Rolls-Royce’s core arsenal of systems design tools. Show less
