Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: management/provision of high-quality safe and effective pharmacotherapy to inpatients, supervision of advanced certified pharmacy technicians, provision of contemporary evidenced-based pharmacotherapy literature reviews to primary and second-level providers, pharmacokinetic management of narrow therapeutic index medications upon consult, maintenance on electronic patient medical records, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines that ensure safe, effective and compounded sterile products (i.e. USP 797 and USP 800) and maintenance clinical knowledge skill set via continuing education, board certification and state/national meeting attendance.

Provides inpatient and emergency medicine pharmacotherapy management. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: review of medication orders, stroke code participation (i.e. Alteplase preparation and administration when parameters are met), ACLS code participation, pharmacokinetic service provision, antibiotic stewardship, supervision of pharmacy technicians and provision of evidence-based pharmacotherapy literature review for primary and second-level providers.

Provides oncology/hematology medication therapy management via participation in multi-disciplinary healthcare team across five infusion centers in the surrounding Knox County area. Main responsibilities include: review/order entry of provider orders, preparation of parenteral of traditional and biologic oncology/hematology medications, supervision of pharmacy technicians, maintenance of electronic patient medical records, provision of evidence-based pharmacotherapy resources to primary and second-level providers, compliance with state and federal guidelines concerning compounded sterile product production (i.e. USP 797 and USP 800) and maintenance of skill set by primary literature review.
