These are usually private equity companies (or held by larger private equity companies as a portfolio company). When they need a CFO to plug in for a few months I step in. I can manage the accounting, HR, and IT as well as handle the CFO duties2. I help private equity portfolio companies with recent acquisitions. Unfortunately, private equity companies that acquire companies often have to part with their finance staff. The finance teams are not normally used to 90/10 or 80/20 debt/equity structures and as a result are not able to manage the cash flow constraints. I have a lot of experience in this area.3. I help portfolio companies work through debt refinancing and work with banks or private debt holders when covenants are an issue.
