I received the “Leadership Award” for exceeding course standards of the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School (graduated in the top 5% of a 200-person class) and was voted “Drill Sergeant of the cycle” three times by my peers and supervisors.

Fort Bragg, Nc

I planned, resourced and directed combat operations for 12 months in Afghanistan. The challenges my company faced led me to refine training systems and standard operating procedures. I also facilitated the building of trust with Afghan Security Forces and tribal leaders that led to a 15% decrease in the number of attacks in my sector. I graduated with honors from the U.S. Army Advanced Leader Course and trained a 12-person team for a 12-month deployment for combat operations in Iraq. My other duties included: serving as Brigade Reintegration Jumpmaster; serving as the primary instructor to the Al-Anbar Province Iraqi General’s personal security detachment (PSD); and collaborating with joint, interagency, multinational, and host nation forces to protect personal and friendly assets.

I graduated with honors from the U.S. Army Warrior Leader Course and trained a 9-person team on Infantry tasks during our work-up for a 15-month combat deployment to Iraq, resulting in every team member being awarded the coveted Expert Infantry Badge (EIB); achieved the highest “go rate” in the Brigade; and completed the U.S. Army’s Jumpmaster School. I won the 82nd Airborne Division’s Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the Year competition. The commander of the 82nd Airborne (Major General) recognized me for excellence in combat, particularly during times of duress.
