I have over 19 years of building materials industry in design, sales, and management. Nine years of the experience is in the design and sales with a specialty in kitchen and bath design. I have project managed a remodel from start to finish. I successfully assisted home owners, and builders with selections from flooring, tile, countertops, cabinets, plumbing fixtures, windows, door, siding, and decking. I have successfully taken a homeowner’s vision and make it a reality. Prior to this experience was 3 years of furniture sales and design. I was consistantly in the top of my sales department.The last 10 years I have been an assistant manager in a professional lumber yard, specializing with retail consumers and contractors. In this position I work with over 30 employees at in the facility and directly manages a staff of 12. I assist in overseeing the entire operation of the Lumberyard. This position has given me a diverse background in several business activities including purchasing, management, sales, business operations. In purchasing I source materials for the location, get price comparisons, purchase materials based on forecasting, search vendors, build vendor relationships, receive inventory, and set pricing. I manage the monthly cycle count process and yearly inventories for the location. I conduct the onsite training for new hires including point of sales training, orientation, and store policies and procedures. I also schedule regular vendor trainings to keep the staff up to date on current products and market trends. I work with HR on employee conflict resolutions, policies/procedures, and quarterly reviews. I work closely with the sales and sales support teams, and have seen consistent growth. Building solid relationships with vendors, customers, and employees is a huge part to my success. I have participated and helped organize store marketing events and trade shows. As a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt I have managed several projects for process improvement, reducing company waste, and increasing company bottom line. I am involved in the accounts receivables for my location, and work with the accounts payable to ensure vendors are paid on time and the invoicing is correct.
