I am a software engineer, data scientist, automation engineer, and physicist.I previously worked on the Security Automation team at IBM where I developed and maintained automation which managed customer network-security device configurations (10k+ devices: firewalls, linux servers, IPS devices, etc.) to ensure customer networks remained secure (patching, configuration, etc.). I also did exploratory analysis of business processes to find, evaluate, and provide automation solutions to internal software developers and management.I was as a member of the PHENIX Collaboration at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (New York). An international collaboration of hundreds of scientists dedicated to maintaining, calibrating, and analyzing data from the PHENIX detector (composed of hundreds of sub-detectors and accompanying data-capturing and filtering electronic and optical systems).I was diagnosed and treated for the neurodevelopmental disability ADHD at the age of 37 (2021). My diagnosis and subsequent (hyper-focused) learning in neuropsychology and neuroarchitecture has helped me understand my personal neural networks' shortcomings, allowing me to instead focus on their strengths. I will only perform repetitious work under duress; if a task can be automated I WILL automate the repetitious task (generate reports/docs/plots, API interactions, update infrastructure configurations, etc.). This propensity is a direct product of my neurodevelopmental disability (reduced dopamine from mundane and repetitive tasks, good dopamine production for novel tasks). I have found a few metaphorical "infinite wells" of dopamine for me: automation, learning, creating, and research. They have thus-far always proved consistent and novel!I love giving talks and presentations to people with curious minds and collaborative dispositions. I have given talks on high-energy physics data analysis at American Physical Society conferences, PHENIX Collaboration (high-energy physics particle detector) conferences in Japan and the US, at the European Centre for Theoretical Studies in Nuclear Physics and Related Areas in Italy, JINR in Russia, and others. Lately I have been studying neuroscience and neurophysical processes and their analogs in machine learning. I am also continuing to grow my knowledge and skills in SecDevOps, data structures, containerization, and holistic process automation. I am currently also learning modern Cloud infrastructure configuration and tooling for machine learning / AI applications.
