As VP of Network and Cybersecurity Engineering and Operations I am responsible for the architecture, engineering, deployment, and operations of AppNexus’s worldwide 7x24x365 production network. Our network infrastructure includes Juniper MX class routers, Juniper and Arista switches, Nginx and F5 load balancers across seven global datacenters. In this role I manage on-call rotation schedules, produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc metrics and reports, quickly identify problem trends as they develop before they become crises, and perform other duties necessary to support round the clock operations.I also lead the AppNexus Cybersecurity team, defining and implementing operational security for our organization, working with product engineering, devops, and technical operations to help AppNexus build and enhance security across our stack. Our team performs internal penetration-testing, security awareness training, endpoint security, while designing and implementing our overall security program.

Working with a team of high skilled technology professionals, I am responsible for leading agile projects to deliver on a variety of initiatives including securing Big Data analytics infrastructures. In my role as Strategic Initiatives Officer I work jointly with VP IT and the VP Finance and Administration to develop and direct strategic initiatives for the institution, with a focus on transformation and innovation. I act as project director for key initiatives, and specialize in bringing the right people together to get the job done. This is an exciting time in Post-Secondary Education, with many opportunities for business process re-engineering, building Communities of Practice, and continuing to lead the way in cross-institution and province-wide IT initiatives.

Responsible for leadership and management of Augustana Campus infrastructure projects and information systems. Management of infrastructure projects involves oversight for planning, directing and evaluating Augustana capital projects including construction of new facilities, renovations of existing facilities, and decisions about the purchase and upgrade of major research, instructional and computer equipment. The responsibility for overseeing technology activities on the Augustana Campus includes planning and initiation of new services, developing and maintaining server and network infrastructure, and developing policies, procedures and controls to enhance service delivery and network security.

Reporting to the Vice Dean I am responsible for the overall operation and development of information systems at the Augustana Campus. In addition to supporting teaching, research and the University's administrative systems, I am responsible for a wide range of management and information systems including network and server infrastructure; help desk; programming services; web-based services; audio-visual asset creation; and telephony. Additional responsibilities include providing expert assessments on data and network security and developing strategic plans; policies; procedures; budgets; and controls.
