About Josh Simcock

I'm enthusiastic, passionate and curious about microbes, the interactions between them and their hosts and the way these interactions shape host health. With a background in biochemistry and a masters in microbiome research, I have recently embarked on a PhD project within the Raes lab at VIB-KU Leuven investigating the eco-evolutionary dynamics of gut microbiota communities. My overall ambition is to contribute novel findings which can be translated into improving the long-term health of our global communities.
