CurrentCreated Feathers UI, an open source library of graphical user interface (GUI) controls for cross-platform, frontend projects. Developers can use Feathers UI to build native apps targeting smartphones, tablets, desktop PCs, or it can be compiled to JavaScript for deployment on the web. The latest iteration of Feathers UI is built using the Haxe programming language and OpenFL, a user-friendly library for rendering, input, and networking. Initial development of this new version was successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter. The original version of Feathers UI was built using ActionScript 3.0 and MXML to run on Starling Framework and the Adobe AIR runtime. At the time, the project was officially supported and promoted by Adobe Systems as a recommended solution for ActionScript developers to build mobile, desktop, and web apps with Adobe AIR and Flash Player.Companies releasing apps and games built with Feathers UI have included game development studios Ubisoft and 2K Games, cosmetics brand Estee Lauder, and Swiss luxury watch designer Jaeger-LeCoultre.
