The Eagle Scout project is an opportunity for the small percentage of Boy Scouts to serve their community in a long-lasting way, but it is up to the individual Scout to determine exactly what that looks like. I reached out to Cool Creek elementary because I heard they were looking for help with their new playground, so I was excited to offer help. After thinking about it, I decided to build miniature playhouses with the help of my extremely handy carpenter grandfather. We determined we would be able to build two in time for the school year. It was extremely difficult to built two entire structures all on the playground of an elementary school, but we made it happen. We also ran into all sorts of time and budget problems. But, by enlisting the help of other Scouts, friends, and family members, and working several days, we finally got all the playhouses built and painted. The results, in my opinion, speak for themselves.
