I team with our Safety Deparment and oversee workers comp, auto, and general liability claims.

I am responsible for quickly contacting all relevant parties in claims reported to us. I must verify coverage, determine relevant exposure amounts for each claim made and handle each loss to resolution for our customers. I continue to negotiate and resolve claims for both first and third-party claimants. I am team focused and seek to lend assistance to coworkers as I am able and am building continuing to seek coaching and feedback opportunities to advance in my career.

My role as a Claims Specialist II is to handle complex Medical Payments claims, identify trends and investigate potential fraud, and coordinate with our litigation claims teams, general counsel, and special investigations units. I have successfully transitioned into my new role and have continued to handle first-party injury claims.

I am constantly learning and developing my own claims handling workflows to increase my efficiency and provide better service to our members. I have consistently registered a 90% or better on quarterly QA and annual audit scores for technical proficiency, customer contact, and best claims practices behaviors. I have continued to pursue mentoring and ongoing training in order to identify areas of opportunity to better serve our members each day and make the claims process easy. I have negotiated first-party medical claims with various attorneys offices across Western States including California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Montana and Idaho.

I began my career in personal lines auto claims working in the non-injury liability auto claims. I learned to identify subrogation and comparative negligence opportunities and utilize our direct repair and drive-in vehicle estimating services to help manage claims costs. I was responsible for verifying coverage, identifying coverage issues, determining fair liability decisions, and referring files to our bodily injury specialists when applicable. I earned my promotion from claims associate to claims specialist at my 1 year anniversary with the company. Following this I was promoted to a team-lead position which required me to continue managing my normal claim load as well as assisting a number of my co-workers manage their workload, providing coaching and feedback, and assisting with the mentoring of new hires to the department.

I was responsible for marketing the agency and writing new business policies to facilitate the growth of the agency. I was diligent to follow up on current and long-term leads as well as seeking out new sources of leads. While working with any group, interested, new, or long-term customers, it was imperative to provide stellar customer service.
