-Updating the 6 year LOM Enterprise mine design and schedule to reflect mining actuals, depleting all historic excavations from scheduled developments, incorporating new designs (hanging-wall drives), amending resource assignments based upon tracked KPI’s and fleet reductions, levelling the schedule and incorporating reportable production fields such as grade domains L.G, M.G and H.G for blending ratio’s on the ROM pad, aiming to deliver 2,000t at 0.84% Ni per day.-Orchestration of a Mine Planning Hotlist for the prioritisation of scheduled mine planning activities such as development design changes, slot designs and stope ring designs.-Auditing all designs from the Munali Re-start to identify historic design oversights, rig parameters and weaknesses throughout the sign-off process. Implementation of standardised mine planning design templates, with particular attention to stope ring designs to simplify the design for the survey department to mark-up and long-hole operators to drill. -Development of adherence reports to track and monitor U/G contractors responsible for raise mining and long-hole production drilling. Ensuring short-medium term KPI attainment. Project Management-Key member of a project team set up by the Mine Manager to rectify operational complexities encountered i.e. stope hang-ups and the CAF backfilling operation. Focusing on delivering planning and operational efficiencies and solutions to project critical activities.

-Successful integration of the 3.7mt Enterprise and 1.1mt polymetallic Voyager satellite deposit LOM schedules, allowing a combined animation to be created and presented at Mining Indaba 2019 by the CEO, promoting future ore extraction of satellite deposits within the Munali tenement area to potential investors.-Creation of numerous short (12.5-15kt/w & 55-64kt/m) and medium term (quarterly and 15 month budget) schedules, levelling the LOM schedule and amending resource rates to reflect mining actuals and reporting to the board of directors for investment and board sign-off.-Creation of a safe operating procedure index to identify procedural shortfalls, amend existing SOP’s and priorities the creation of critical Mine Technical and Mine Operations SOP’s. Development of numerous SOP’s including a Stope Production SOP to outline all individual departmental step procedures that played a pivotal role in stope production, and a Face Mark-up SOP to outline sound operational practices to ensure lateral blast rate attainment. Driving SOP implementation, training and conduction of audits for compliance.-Close collaboration with the Mabiza Resources Ltd. Health and Safety department to improve efficiencies in incident investigation and reporting, enhancing the level of detail captured throughout investigations, format, content and turn-around time of incident and accident reports. Conducting numerous investigations with the H&S department, providing mining engineering knowledge to route cause analysis.

-Successful implementation of Deswik to a multitude of departments (Mine Planning, Survey, Geology, Geotechnical, Ventilation, Mine Rescue, Health and Safety and Mine Operations). Offering Deswik training, software solutions and supervising Mabiza Resources Ltd. departmental Deswik activities daily. Close collaboration with Mine Technical head of departments to assess software needs such as ventilation requirements, grade control measures for blending ratios on the ROM Pad, use of conceptual plans in incident reporting and investigation and reconciliation. -Development and presentation of several workshops for Mine Technical and Mine Operation personnel to outline the LOM mining schedule and increase awareness and knowledge of the transverse bottom-up sub-level Modified Avoca mining method.-Produced 21 Deswik training videos covering the Block Model, Deswik.CAD, Interactive Scheduler, Scheduling software components and additional Deswik Suite models—Auto Stope Designer (ASD).-Successful delivery and complete site implementation of Deswik.CAD within 6 weeks of arriving on site, allowing the Mine Planning department to integrate Deswik into their 60kt/month operational activities, improving departmental efficiencies.-Produced a portfolio and presentation to outline site wide software license requirements to the CEO, General Manager and Mine Manager. -Implementation of a schedule compliance report, producing conceptual level plans to assess operation advance rates, development quality (grade and line) and schedule deviations identified from the mid-month and end of month survey pick-ups. Reporting to the Operations Manager, Superintendent Mine Planner, Mine Manager and CEO on a two– week basis. I became an integrated member of the Mine Planning department.

'An economic analysis into the development of the polymetallic (Ni-Cu-Co-Pt-Pd) Voyager Deposit, Munali Nickel Mine, Zambia'.Producing two underground Deswik mine designs and schedules to assess portal and adit access developments, ascertaining the economic viability of future ore extraction in the region.

A database was compiled which included impact investors, development finance institutes, angel investors, venture and private equity funds within or focused upon Africa. These organisations were targeted to attend, contribute and speak at the Impact Investing Conference, Zambia (2018).

I was granted an extremely valuable opportunity to undertake an internship with Consolidated Nickel Mines in country operating company, Mabiza Resources. The main intention of which was to gain a further understanding, knowledge and appreciation towards the future operating and ongoing care and maintenance procedures at the Munali Nickel Mine, South Zambia. Throughout the duration, I was introduced to a wide variety of concepts, such as plant optimisation, PFD’s, the industries strict health and safety practices and inducted to Zambia’s Mining Regulations. - Field assistance & logistical support for the collection of primary data for a PhD Exploration Geologist, University of Leicester (1 week).- Underground mapping of the Munali Ultra-Mafic – Mafic Breccia Unit and its associated sulphide mineralisation on multiple footwall drives, to depths in excess of 300 metres. - Exposure – hands on experience to social investment, through a variety of projects including, a clean burning stove pilot survey, the main intention of which was to educate the local community members (rural Zambia) through several discussions and demonstrations- tackling a number of socio-environmental issues including illegal deforestation.- Assisting and logistical support for an international consultancy capital investment visit – acting as the back-up on-site geologists. Providing information towards the geological database whilst maintaining high levels of professionalism.- Conduction of a site-report to evaluate mining as a business model, gaining an insight into departmental activities, care and maintenance procedures and future optimisation through the inclusion of a separate copper floatation system & DMS plant.

Working in collaboration with University of Leicester MSc graduate to organize and manipulate inherited mining data. - Defragmenting former site information database to assess the value and start-up viability of the Munali, Nickel Mine.- Implementing a structured four tier model (Country, Locality, Primary, and Secondary) to assist in identifying specific data pertaining to a specific location.- Rollout of this model to the company’s other African operations were also formulated this allowed project potential sheets and feasibility studies of former tenement areas to be produced.

Liskeard, Cornwall, United Kingdom

Full time paid internship at Lantoom's slate quarry, Cornwall, Liskeard. Having impressed various team members and the companies CEO with my hard-work and determination, I was granted an extension to my employment. My various roles encompassed, but were not limited to, the extraction of large volumes of country rock through the operation and maintenance of various machinery, including Thwaites All-drive, Hitachi Ex 40, water extraction systems, picker and screener. I have also been exposed and familiarised with vigorous health and safety producers ensuring a safe working environment, through risk assessments and daily site inspections.

Elected by my student cohort to represent over 100 paid society members.The broad range of responsibilities required for this position has enabled me to develop sound management, teamwork, leadership, communication, delegation, diplomacy and organisational skills.My main responsibilities encompassed:-Acting as the figure head of the society to ensure all concerns and student issues where dealt with in a professional manner. - Organising regular committee meetings.- Communicating with the Student's Union.- Organising social events/field trips for members.- Establishing sports teams for members (football and netball teams).- Organising regular charity events and volunteering opportunities to members. - Allocating, monitoring and securing fund to provide equipment for the teams.Achieving a Silver Icons Award for excellence, adhering to a myriad of university policies within the duration of holding this position.
