As a Program Officer with the Canadian Red Cross, I am passionate about helping communities in need. My current role involves supporting the Community Services Recovery Fund, a $400 million government funding initiative aimed at helping community service organizations respond to pandemic-related challenges. In this capacity, I conduct reviews of grant applications, identify risks and challenges, and make recommendations based on program guidelines.Prior to joining the Red Cross, I worked at the University of Waterloo's Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) as an Events and Communications Coordinator, where I managed the communications strategy, ensuring brand consistency across all channels, creating strategic, accessible content for marketing materials, the website, and mass emails sent to thousands of educators and students worldwide. I also planned, budgeted, and executed over a dozen conferences, youth workshops, and award ceremonies, supervised and mentored a full-time co-op student, and oversaw the School Visits program, coordinating virtual and in-school workshops throughout the school year.Additionally, I have experience working in grassroots social enterprises, managing marketing and communications strategies, collaborating with stakeholders, and producing compelling reports and program materials. With a Master of Media Studies from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, I have developed a strong background in research, communications, and project management.
