Ever since I can remember I have always found satisfaction in making sense of things that may at first glance appear to be chaotic to others. It is almost like a detective solving a case that others found perplexing. I have always been a big believer in simplifying things as much as possible. There are a good number of analysts and consultants out there that love nothing more than to show you how smart they are by dazzling you with pages of equations, statistics, and such… That is not me. While I do have a wide variety of tools that I can use (SQL, R, Tableau, etc.) and am constantly looking to learn more, I have found that it is best to start with the basics first and work your way up as needed (no need to break out the flamethrower if a single match will suffice).How did I get here? Well, I have always been good at Math. Combine that with being pragmatic and very curious and data analytics/science seems a natural fit. I enjoy helping solve real world business problems. It is very satisfying to be able to say to a client "Hey, if you do this you could make $X more" or "Hey, tweaking this could save you $Y/year in costs". Outside of being a data nerd I am a proud girl dad (both human and canine) that enjoys Crossfit, playing ice hockey, and skiing in his spare time.
