I moved overseas to Asia when I was a child, and have been living cross-culturally ever since. Now, 15 years later, I see myself as a bridge between cultures, complementing, rather than competing with, my peers with my unique set of tools gained overseas. I love to travel, learn languages, and play sports--anything to stay active. Curiosity and a wonder for the unexplored has driven me to pursue a degree at California Baptist University in biomedical engineering with a concentration in mechanical systems and a minor in physics. As a strategic thinker, gifted in ideation, with a passion for understanding the universe and its complexities, I have taken this challenge in stride.Last year, me and my friend started an academic team--hoping to innovate the concept of the Total Artificial Heart, and already we have grown 500% and won 3rd place in the international Heart Hackathon competition for Total Artificial Heart design.Ultimately, I am a curious, innovative thinker who leads effectively as a bridge between groups of people. And in the future, I hope to take my wonder for the world, gift for cross-cultural communication, and engineering skills overseas, where I can continue to serve the impoverished through medical device innovation.
