Facilitated all laboratory tests to ensure the biodiesel fuel I produced met ASTM standards.

I managed a non-profit school-affiliated student group that researched and advocated the use of renewable fuels, specifically biodiesel. We held monthly workshops, ran process optimizing tests, wrote grants for project funding, and gave demonstrations at local schools.

I optimized process design and conducted lab tests on reaction parameters for biodiesel production, as well as oversaw a $40k grant to convert a trailer into a mobile biodiesel production facility.

An AmeriCorps VISTA is responsible for starting a project or program that addresses a need in the local community. I managed the home-renovation side of a low-income housing assistance non-profit called Neighborhood Partners. I identified and recruited clientele, scheduled and monitored the work, as well as identified and recruited un/skilled volunteers and materials to complete required projects to meet housing code.I also organized a weekend event known as the Annual Renewal Blitz, where we target a low income neighborhood for a weekend of hard and rewarding work. I chose the Cole Neighborhood in Denver, and addressed issues within 25 homes with over 225 volunteers.
