Experienced construction manager, designer, business owner and entrepreneur with over 17 years’ experience building and managing custom residential projects in NW Washington. As an entrepreneur, started True Bearing Built with the purpose of raising the bar for residential construction in NW Washington by offering a thoughtful approach that emphasizes local relationships, dedication to craft, sustainable practices, and a rewarding culture.

As the primary contact for my projects, I was responsible for all client and architect communications, procurement and coordination of materials, labor allocation, scheduling, billing, reporting of project status to upper management and closeout operations. Helped establish foothold in the San Juan Islands for Dowbuilt operations. Served as lead project manager for all northern WA and islands-based projects since 2014. Developed a reputation for managing sites with difficult access on remote islands.

During pre-construction efforts, heavily involved with estimating, takeoffs, and value engineering strategies. Participated in client meetings and estimate presentations to win work. During construction, assisted project teams in buyout, material procurement, architect submittals, RFIs, subcontractor scope definition, subcontractor and vendor contracting, and insurance compliance. Assisted project team in closeout efforts and demobilization. Specific areas of expertise and experience include custom projects such as Tom Kundig-style kinetics and “gizmos,” challenging site logistics and difficult access. Development of construction documents with oversight from Principal Architect. Code research and incorporation into design drawings for compliance. Responsible for facilitating permit submittal process to Seattle DPD. Construction administration as required during building phases.
