As a project manager within the National Capital Region Department of the Traffic & Mobility Engineering group, I am responsible for coordinating traffic signal and safety projects across the DC region. In addition to managing transportation projects, I supervise a dedicated team of engineers and analysts working on traffic analysis, design, and operations.

As a project engineer, I am responsible delivering quality technical deliverables for traffic analysis, design, and operations projects in DC. In this role, I have led numerous traffic analysis studies, including signal warrants, HAWK warrants, sight distance, speed, and gap studies, as well as prepared design plans for corridor bus and bicycle projects.

Following the merger between Mead & Hunt and Sabra & Associates, Inc., I have continued my work coordinating signal optimization projects and traffic signal designs. I am also responsible for preparing signal timing plans, developing signing and pavement marking designs, and integrating Vision Zero concepts into traffic signal design and operations.

Responsibilities include traffic signal optimization and timing updates, responding to citizen requests, and preparing traffic signal designs. Other duties include reviewing design work and planning studies, as well as performing field observations and traffic counts.

Developed a traffic control device to alert drivers to the presence of visually impaired pedestrians at roundabout crosswalks (funded by the SAFER-SIM UTC).Evaluated the safety and emissions performance of several alternative intersection designs under varying traffic conditions (funded through the Eisenhower Fellowship).

I obtained this position through the Summer Transportation Internship Program for Diverse Groups (STIPDG), which is contracted through The Washington Center (TWC). I was selected by Dr. Peter Huang to work with the Office of Operations Research & Development at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC). Over the course of the summer, I performed.

Throughout my time at Valparaiso University, I worked as a Hesse Tutor in the Hesse Learning Resource Center. My responsibilities included serving as a tutor for walk-in students who needed help in engineering related subjects, as well as working with invidual students on a weekly basis in both Physics and Calculus. I interned in the summer of 2015 for the Engineering Department of the GCRTA. I spent the majority of my time in the field, where I supervised two construction projects.
