Designed AMD's training and inferencing cluster architectures. Specifically focusing on reducing collective communication time for RDMA communication required between GPUs.- Designed and patented AMD's in switch collective offload technology. Reduces runtime below published lower bound for some collective communication operations.- Designed, specified, and authored AMD's RDMA network architectures for MI210, MI300X, MI375X, and MI4xxX.- Designed, and specified AMD's multi-plane and fan-out RDMA architectures.- Designed Dell's, HPE's, Supermicro's, and Lenovo's MI300X reference cluster architectures.- Led various co-design efforts with Broadcom, Arista, Juniper, Nokia, and Dell to improve RDMA communication between AMD GPUs.- Designed a variety of training and inferencing clusters for AMD customers ranging in size from several thousand GPUs to several million GPUs.- Co-designed AMD's RCCL ring collective communication algorithm for MI300X.- Assisted in growing the cluster networking team from a rag-tag band of 7 people to an organization of several hundred people. Assisted in restructuring the group, wrote all skills matrices, and job descriptions, and grew the team.- Mentored a variety of AMD engineers, product mangers, executive leadership, business development, and field staff. - Wrote AMD's cluster design and test process.- Designed and initiated the open source project aiStackDeploy, to automate the deployment and test of AMD clusters at scale.
