Tutorfair Foundation provides free one-to-one and small-group tutoring to young people from low-income or otherwise vulnerable backgrounds. By recruiting skilled and experienced volunteers from the private tutoring sector we've supported more than 10,000 learners through partnerships with schools, charities and community groups across the UK.Joining in 2019, I led the Foundation's response to the Covid-19 pandemic and its transition to full independence following the sale of Tutorfair.

By harnessing the talents of high-achieving gap year students, Yipiyap provides much needed individual attention to primary and secondary students to raise aspirations, improve outcomes and boost confidence.Appointed during my final year of university to the newly created Regional Director role, I supported Yipiyap's expansion into London, Leicestershire and Yorkshire. By my third year I was leading a team of more than 30 full and part-time tutors across the 3 regions.

Recruited hot on the heels of my A-Level Maths exam, this role saw me deliver more than 1,000 hours of one-to-one and small-group tutoring in schools across Manchester before heading to London for university. After what was a turbulent relationship with my own education, becoming a maths tutor was something of surprising twist! But the experience of teaching others kindled a true love of learning and helped me to develop at a young age many of the professional and interpersonal skills that I now rely on.
