As a Dispatcher, my job is very involved and is an integral part of my company. I take all incoming calls, often over 100 a day, gather information on all orders (including billing information and doctor information), generate the order, and dispatch exams to appropriate technologists. Once the exam is done by the technologist, I send exams to the appropriate radiologist group. After a report is generated by the radiologist group, I send the report to the facility or directly to the doctor and then call to confirm they received the report. In addition to these everyday duties, I am also back up IT, assist the quality assurance team, am part of the support team, help set up film deliveries and mailing of exams by converting images into DICOM images and burning them to a disk.I also help set up doctors and their offices to view our images through our website by setting them up with a user ID and password, linking them to the patients they need, and trouble shooting any issues along the way. I am also the first line of defense for all customer complaints. I work with the facilities, nurses, and doctors to provide the best customer service possible by solving their problems either by me immediately or by coordinating with the proper people to get the issues resolved as fast and completely as possible.
