My role comprises of carrying out surveys and coordinating with the sales designers to finalise the design. Once the design is finalised, I work closely with the building contractors to prepare site for our fitout, ensuring the correct services are in place along with any structural requirements needed for the design. I then oversee the project, managing the fitters and subcontractors through to completion.

Before my promotion to project manager, I worked as a cabinet vison technician, setting out kitchens, bedrooms, and bathroom in 3d software. This was then used to program the CNC equipment to manufacture the furniture.

My main role was to carry out surveys and then set out the designs in CAD which the cabinet makers would use to manufacture to. After a couple of years of my employment, we integrated cabinet vision into our manufacturing process which replaced the use of AutoCAD. I would often make furniture in periods where there was no setting out required.

. I began working with Calanpoint as a labourer and was offered an apprenticeship shortly after joining. Having worked to NVQ level 3 I have been involved in many specialist projects on sites ranging from domestic solid oak staircases to reception areas with a budget of £150,000. I have also project-managed a number of small jobs, including the refit of two new shop areas in the prestigious Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch.

My role involved assisting carpenters and general labourer duties. I gained good experience in efficient building methods for truss roofing, particularly with regard to pre-fabricated truss roofs.
