Intrigued, she took a very deep breath, signed up and did something unimaginable: sang for the first time in a room full of strangers. Cast as Alexi Darling and Blanket Person, she discovered her creative home and a whole new career.Jo is never halfway in, so she scoured New York for teachers, and found mentors. She's crafted her own "conservatory" through work with private coaches - vocal teachers who kick her butt; acting teachers who push her to stay open and honest; dance teachers who keep everything moving. It's hard work and she loves every minute of it.Since RENT Jo has played Dr. Brookner in THE NORMAL HEART, a Descamisado in EVITA, Heidi von Sturm in NINE, and Reggie Flutie in THE LARAMIE PROJECT. She's sung off-Broadway in THE EVENTS and THE CHRISTIANS; and performed in readings, black box festivals and a solo cabaret. She's also developing her skills as a voiceover artist. Jo was onstage this summer in two new one-act musicals that premiered in festivals in New York City.
