I graduated with my Masters in Social Work from UTK in 2015. I am a grant writer and have successfully written over ten grants for Otero County Teen Court, Children in Need of Services (CHINS), Alamogordo Club for Teens and the Otero County D.A.R.E program. I have worked in the criminal justice system in several roles (including a probation & parole officer) since 2002. Currently, I am employed as a psychiatric social worker in the child & adolescent psychiatric inpatient unit at CVPH. I also float to the medical floors and provide bedside CBT, complete MoCA assessments in addition to biopsychosocial assessments for psychiatric consults. I have my own private practice and I am a therapist for TalkSpace who partners with NYC to provide free mental health therapy to NYC school age children and adolescents. For the past five years I have provided clinical supervision to BSW and MSW students. Previously, I provided outpatient mental health therapy to children, adolescence, adults and families in a community agency focusing on trauma informed therapy, attunement, attachment, CBT & DBT. I am a Circle of Security (COS) Facilitator and Certified in DBT. I am also certified in CBT-Suicide Prevention in addition to a certified level I trauma therapist. My CEUs include CBT, DBT, Trauma, Substance Abuse, Infant Mental Health, Play Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, Somatic Therapeutic Tools, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment & Trauma, Epigenetics, Understanding ADHD, Eating Disorders, Mindfulness, Early Brain Development, Child-Parent Psychotherapy and Zero to Three.
