• Worked with students in an urban, high-needs school• Provided meaningful learning experiences and appropriate mainstreaming opportunities for students in K-3rd grade in federal settings 1,2, and 3• Integrated technology including iPads purchased through donations, voice-output communication devices, netbooks, computers, flip camera video, interactive whiteboard programs, and document camera into daily instruction and student activities to increase engagement and improve academic outcomes. • Collaborated closely with parents and families, regular education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, ELL teachers, Gifted/Talented teachers, administration and outside agencies to provide cohesive services for all students• Wrote comprehensive Evaluations, Functional Behavior Assessments, IEPs, Behavior Intervention Plans, and progress reports with our team of professionals• Acted as Autism Program team lead to coordinate student transportation, facilitate paraprofessional payroll, create agendas and minutes for Autism Program meetings, and organize group field trips and events• Co-directed 3 spectacular plays and 2 concerts starring all Autism Program students, including "The Wizard of Oz," "The Lion King" (which attracted local media), and "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory"• Wrote and received a $3000 grant from Ecolab in 2010 for hands-on teaching materials to teach grade level concepts with a multi-sensory approach to students with varying learning styles• Volunteered with the district special education family liaison to develop successful district-wide monthly special education family resource meetings• Worked on action teams and committees throughout the school including: leadership team, staff handbook writing action team, Learner Support Team, special education child study team, Family Engagement Committee, PBIS behavior committee, Site Council, and PTA
