My last 6+ years have been incredibly rewarding, seeing students grow and appreciate the beauty of mathematics through their high school journeys. In coaching, teaching, leading educational tours, and creating curriculum, I have had such an amazing adventure of communicating my knowledge and experience to those around me. Working with youth and seeing the growth they show as they find their way through school and life beyond has been the most enriching experience of my life. In addition, finding new ways to approach problems, both mathematical and interpersonal, has helped me appreciate the challenges and successes of all those around me. One of the most incredible experiences was creating and working with clubs for student interest outside of the classroom. In my time at the high school, we began a mathematics competition club, as well as a table tennis club. While coaching has been fulfilling in so many ways, leading these clubs based on student interest has been especially wonderful. These groups brought an incredibly diverse group of young men and women together and brought down many barriers that exist in their lives outside of the school. Seeing the many students display their passions openly and with others from around the school and beyond was a truly enriching experience. My greatest hope in moving forward is to have the chance to see connections happen and help foster growth within communities through more analytical means.
