Demonstrate technical knowledge of imaging vessels by optimizing machine settings with respect to angle of insonation, depth, sample gate, dynamic range, focal zones, PRF, tint map, etc. Operate Phillips Elite and Parks ultrasound equipment to produce accurate and quality images and reports of blood vessels (or pressures) of the body, perform ultrasound equipment care, complete diagnostic quality ultrasound exams under the direction of veteran lead sonographers, vascular surgeons, exams performed are complete and include color, B-mode, Power Doppler, Spectral Doppler with waveform analysis, PVR, Doppler waveforms, vessel diameter measurements when indicated. Review examination data with lead sonographer on EPIC and PACS, process for final interpretation by ordering physician, note any study limitations, assist with preparation and maintenance of operational logs, clean and disinfect ultrasound instruments and equipment according to hospital facility protocol, collaborate with nurses and other radiological personnel, contribute to the collaboration with vascular surgeons, sonographers and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of patient care, greet and introduce myself to patients, verify with patient the type of radiology procedure ordered prior to exam start using the HIPAA guidelines for two identifiers, explain the exam and positioning to the patient, obtain patient history including symptoms, review any prior radiological images with lead sonographer, stick and clean exam rooms and work area, learn, learn, learn!
