I'm the Founder and CEO of Emerge Advocacy: Youth Workers bringing a #VoiceOfHope to young people in A&E because of self-harm, suicide attempt or emotional crisis.As a professional youth worker since 2000, I've led projects supporting vulnerable young people in the Midlands and Surrey, in particular, enabling volunteers to engage with needs in their communities. I am passionate about building teams which are empowering and releasing.I have many years experience working in faith based settings and have worked in an acute psychiatric setting within the NHS. Since founding Emerge in 2016, I have learned a lot about working with faith-based and statutory partners to deliver youth work for mental health in ED departments. Beginning in Guildford, and now spreading out across Surrey, Kent and beyond, I have a vision to facilitate replication nationally which fills me with excitement and trepidation in almost equal measures!
