I am a Nurse, Physician Assistant, wife, mother of 2 wonderful sons, (who just happen to be on the Autism Spectrum), and Co-Founder of Autism FYI Organization- a 501c3 Non-profit committed to the safety of those on the Autism Spectrum in their existing communities as well as future. My passion and interest about Autism started long before the birth of my two sons. I worked as a Registered Nurse in Pediatrics at Children's National Medical Center from 1976 until 1979. Later at Southern Maryland Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for 3 years before moving to Pediatrics at Greater Southeast Community Hospital. After returning to school at Howard University, I worked as a Physician Assistant at Emergency Rooms in Leland Hospital and later Laurel Regional Hospital. After having 2 sons on the Autism Spectrum, I became an DAN practitioner (Defeat Autism Now) from 2001-2013 and worked with my husband treating numerous patients many of which were on the Spectrum. In 2014 we started Autism FYI Organization and I stopped practicing Alternative Medicine and focused on my husband's Plastic and Reconstructive Practice and the Org. It is my passion to make living with Autism safe, and the environments in which they live safe, as well as enriched, by their inclusion.
Listed skills include Healthcare, Wellness, Allergy, Nursing, and 23 others.
