California Academy of Mediation Professionals (CAMP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality mediation services as an effective and efficient alternative to formal court proceedings for the resolution of disputes.In 1986, the California Legislature passed the Dispute Resolution Programs Act (DRPA) providing the establishment and funding of local dispute resolution programs in Los Angeles County. The purpose of the DRPA is to encourage the use of dispute resolution services as an alternative to formal court proceedings.CAMP currently sends mediators to Civil Harassment, Unlawful Detainer, and Small Claims courtrooms in the Los Angeles Superior Court. CAMP mediates in courtrooms throughout Los Angeles County from as far north as Lancaster and as far south as Long Beach. During the fiscal year of 2014-15, CAMP mediators settled over 1,200 cases for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
