  • Using any and alll automated or manual underwriting engines review, analyze and underwrite files on first and second mortgage loans for various lenders according to their prescribed guidelines. • Review and verify all financial documents to assess economic health of loan applicant including verifying income and employment as well as applicant’s credit history. Source additional information as needed when inconsistencies are found.• Scrutinize accounts from which the applicant’s funds are originating to determine the credit worthiness of the applicant.• Assess the property appraisal to ensure accuracy and appropriateness relative to loan being requested.• Ensure conditions have been reviewed and approved for compliance and completion of loan.• Maintain current knowledge of lender and investor requirements.• Assists processors and other underwriters in understanding underwriting decisions and conditions.• Maintain knowledge of all applicable underwriting guidelines by completing all underwriter training programs along with learning any business unit policy and guidelines applicable to the spectrum.• Make recommendations for credit and final approval to gain lending authority.• Review loan files for completeness and accuracy• Identifies portfolio risks resulting from the client’s underlying business practices, underwriting and/or fraud exposure.• Conduct proactive and effective pipeline management in accordance with performance standard expectations for my team and myself.• Supervise 6 to10 employees in the India Office.
