Having gained RSA typing/audio typing qualifications after leaving school, I have always worked in secretarial/administration roles. Initially in law for 13 years, then moving on to working in a GP practice 8 years ago. I felt it was time to expand my skills, therefore, two years ago I trained as a holistic therapist, which I love doing alongside my regular work. However, this has encouraged me to want to develop my career in healthcare. I decided to undertake the Phlebotomy course in order to help me apply for roles as a Trainee Phlebotomist/Healthcare Assistant. I have excellent communication skills and have always been able to work well with the public in a variety of situations. Have experience with a variety of IT systems, from the usual Word and Outlook, to digital dictation software and SystemOne for NHS use. I am very friendly and personable and committed to doing my best in any role I undertake. Ultimately, I want to help other people as that is how I get satisfaction from my working life. Knowing I've made a positive difference for someone is very rewarding. Outside work I am an avid reader, enjoy a variety of craft hobbies, love animals and would really love to save the planet. But I also like motorbikes and can't live without a tumble dryer so I don't think I'll be stopping climate change any time soon!
