I had the opportunity to work as an Assistant Family Teacher at Father Flanagans Boys Home(Boys Town) from 1989-1993. I then moved back to my hometown, Salina Ks. and began my employment at St. Francis Boys Home until offered a Case Management position at Central Kansas Mental Health Center in June of 1994. I worked as a Psychosocial Trainer/Case Manager at CKMHC for 22 years. On each of my jobs I taught social skills to kids with emotional or behavior issues, ages 5-18 and also did individual case management services with them. This consisted of helping kids set goals, identifying what is needed to meet them and helping in follow through. I also work with parents to help them successfully parent their kids. I also taught social skills groups in the elementary, middle school and high school affective needs classrooms. Using the Boys Town curriculum I have developed social skills programs for many groups of various ages.I am currently a Special Education Teacher at a facility school where I teach all the core subjects to students on Kindergarten through 7th grade.
