University Registrar

Seattle, Washington, United States

As a part of Academic Affairs, I manage an office of 12 responsible for excellence in record and academic policy management as well as functions related to degree audit, registration and extensive consulting on curriculum planning and course planning and rooming. I serve on several division-wide and university-wide committees and taskforces. Pride points in the work to date and ongoing efforts include launching electronic forms to replace paper routing, producing first commencement ceremonies at Climate Pledge Arena, and establishing a functional academic policy review committee and process to modernize and drive more equity thinking into our academic policies, develop stronger ties with academic departments for collaborative curriculum change excellence.

Dean Of Enrollment Services And Registrar

Seattle, Wa

In addition to extensive change management work around converting to a new student information system come February, 2021, I advocated greater automation and remote support across the division. We adopted new tools and systems and leveraged our IT partners to begin to turn paper forms into e-forms while continuing to serve customers remotely with high functioning responsiveness and care. We were moving into an unclear future with conservative budgeting and annual course scheduling in support of working adults and Seattle Promise students who attend two years tuition free.

I oversaw Outreach and Admission, Credentials Evaluation, Registration, 5 TRiO programs, Registration, Financial Aid, Advising, Tutoring, Accessibility Services and Completion Coaching for South Seattle College. I oversaw the student complaint process and I was a member of the South Seattle College President's Cabinet. I sat upon several cross-campus and cross-district committees and task force groups including the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) committee and the district commencement ceremony, held at T-Mobile Park each June. In November, 2016 I became a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and regularly conducted group and individual assessments. My greatest achievement is my work on strategic initiatives where I led the process to end late registration, moved our paper registration and petition forms to fillable PDFs, developed a FERPA course in Canvas for district-wide compliance and developed three robust initiatives to be included in the SEM work plan. I was a core leader to produce our year 7 NWCCU accreditation report and completed our site visit in April, 2019. My final focus was to co-lead our college succession planning efforts and to launch a strategic equity enrollment management planning process for the district.
