As a dedicated ReConnect Outreach Worker, I provide front-line, housing-focused, assertive street outreach to youth and adults experiencing homelessness, those at risk of homelessness, and individuals living in poverty within the Greater Moncton Area. My role involves building strong relationships and reducing barriers to obtaining and maintaining appropriate housing through a comprehensive range of services such as assessment, service planning, life skills teaching, resource identification, and crisis prevention/intervention.I work with a psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery approach, helping clients identify and achieve their personal goals. This often involves supporting them in accessing essential services, making referrals, and advocating on their behalf. In some cases, I also accompany clients to shelters, medical appointments, or safe spaces as needed.A key part of my role is fostering community connections. I collaborate with local government, non-profits, the business community, and law enforcement, as well as participate in leadership roles related to fund development and community mobilization efforts.I am passionate about social justice, community building, and creating lasting change for vulnerable populations while upholding the YMCA’s Mission, Vision, and Core values.
