The Finance Rotational Development Program is a two year development program comprised of four rotations through a variety of business units ranging from R&D to Commercial. Past rotations include: Strategic Analytics & Insights (SAI), R&D Finance, Roche Diagnostics Commercial Finance - Pathology, Pharma Technical Operations Finance (PT)Rotation Highlights Include: - SAI: short-term forecaster for a portfolio of 12 products. Successfully navigated two supply shortages without any impact to customer's access-R&D Finance: developed onboarding materials for the entire R&D network and held onboarding sessions for new members of the gRED cluster- R&D Finance: Finance Manager for a molecule team that successfully moved to Stage 3 clinical trials- Diagnostics Commercial Finance: developed dashboard to help with scenario planning for a project proposal- Diagnostics Commercial Finance: completed an analysis across 6000+ vendors to compare actual vs contracted gross margin. These results supported contracting discussions. - PT Finance: built dynamic model to help track cash flow and depreciation for upcoming CapEx investments. Summarized findings in a deck to leadership to provide a consolidated biew and provide line of sight for future investment decisions.

- Formulated a strategy to improve the shopping cart process within procurement through natural language processing to increase accuracy and reduce time spent within this process- Strengthened existing D&I MBA recruitment strategy by evaluating recruitment efforts across 16 MBA programs and proposing changes to pre-MBA and Fall recruiting activities

- Identified savings of +$250M through development of a strategy and implementation plan for an external laboratory benefit management vendor prior to project funding- Authored and edited the Capital Investment Plan White Paper, a 15-page strategy document outlining BCBS’ $453M provider investment; White Paper was approved by BCBS’ CEO- Surveyed +7,500 providers across 12 ancillary specialties and identified a savings of +$224M to develop a pilot case study and strategy for future partnerships- Analyzed efficiency scores and potential cost savings for 4 different specialties spanning +300 providers to support the creation of a Care Collaborative, estimated to save +$1M

• Responsible for accurately compiling 19 operational and compliance reports on a regular cadence. Reports are utilized by the Health Services department to provide high quality care for members and to provide validation to the Centers of Medicaid and Medicare Services to ensure that Cigna-HealthSpring is abiding to contract guidelines.• Develop, update and correct reports for the Health Services department. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify issues within existing reports and to develop requirements for new and ad-hoc reports. Utilize feedback to augment reports using Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Excel.• Create and maintain standard process documentation for the team’s operational and compliance reports. Maintenance enables easy replication of reports, acts as a reference when modifying reports and ensures that all team members can efficiently and accurately produce any report as needed.• Create a user friendly Medical Record Abstraction Tool using Microsoft Access for a Health Services Quality Review audit. Train auditors on how to appropriately use and update the tool to maintain data integrity. Act as a resource to auditors during the Quality Review audit. Design multiple iterations of the tool as additional audit populations are identified.• Mentor associates in the Managed Care Rotational Program in the Illinois market, which includes providing individual project support, ensure exposure to different departments and assist with presentation prep. Participate in recruitment for incoming program associates by promoting the program at career fairs, reviewing resumes, and conducting interviews.

The Managed Care Rotational Program is a year-long development program comprised of three rotations through a variety of business units within the organization. Associates have the opportunity to lead key projects, act as business owners and present key findings to senior leadership on a regular basis. Past rotation projects include: • Evaluated existing MLR PMPM IBNR models to identify areas to improve the model’s accuracy. Partnered with the Medicaid Finance Lead to develop six methods to calculate MLR PMPM, resulting in the creation and utilization of a more efficient and accurate MLR PMPM IBNR model. • Led the Illinois market through its inaugural Flu and Pneumonia Campaign by analyzing historical data, facilitating inter-department discussions, and establishing and executing campaign workgroups. These efforts lead to an increase in flu vaccinations by 280+ members and pneumonia vaccinations by 460 members.• Led the market through two initiatives focused on chart retrieval and education for providers and members for four STAR measures. Received a 76% response rate for DRE chart requests, an 11% conversion rate for A1C, a 26% response rate for RA and a 24% conversion rate for LIS, resulting in an overall positive impact on STAR measures. • Identified inefficiencies in existing project workflow, brainstormed areas of improvement to streamline the process, created and presented a business case to senior leadership which contributed to the hiring of an additional STARS resource.
