Coaching is a collaborative effort that utilizes the strengths of the client to be successful in school and/or work. Joy works with clients to design strategies and tools that fit their individual needs. Coaching includes regular checkins during the week between sessions. Some of the focus areas include; time- management, planning, prioritizing, and organization. Joy is also a Career Coach. With High School and College students she assists with identifying college majors and future careers. She is trained on Career Cruising, a software program that includes self-exploration and planning for careers. For those who are already in the workplace, but are looking to find a career that is a better fit, various assessments; Highlands Ability Test, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and Strong Interest Inventory, are used to identify where clients can be successful. Joy also assists with resumes, cover letters, internships, and job interviewing skills.
