Police Lieutenant
CurrentLeadership: Provide leadership and direction to patrol and investigative units Supervision: Manage and supervise subordinate officers, sergeants, and other department personnel Training: Train and supervise probationary officers, and develop and train students, faculty, and staff on law enforcement procedures Planning: Plan, organize, and direct the administration of the police department Day-to-day activities: Be in charge of the day-to-day activities of assigned units Radio calls: Handle radio calls and dispatch personnel Communication: Keep supervisors informed of important issues Compliance: Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures Investigations: Conduct follow-up of status reviews, and investigate complaints as ordered by the captain
